Outdoor Skills (Fall)

ABLE - Outdoor Skills Fall

By introducing several outdoor skills, this course will allow students to experience a variety of ways to enjoy being active outside. The course will start by coming together as a strong, cohesive group in order to support each other through these adventures. Learn to challenge yourself and trust your peers on both low and high features of a ropes course. Develop your paddling skills and water safety in a kayak or canoe. Discover the simplicity and peace of hiking. Other skills may include navigation, fire building, geocaching, first aid, trail maintenance, and wilderness skills. We will focus on an appreciation and an awareness of the natural world and our responsibility for maintaining and protecting it. This course takes place one day a week for six weeks.
