Middle School theater & Movement Class Performs Final Project

October 30, 2015 - The six eighth-grade boys who comprised the members of the first quarter theater and movement class in the middle school arts rotation completed their course of study today with a final performance for students, faculty and parents.

Theater and movement instructor, Khalil Munir, led the students through a series of warm up exercises including jumping-jacks, push ups, vocal exercises and improvisational acting games - simulating the progression of activities in one of their regular classes.

The demonstration culminated with a performance piece with a self-esteem and self-acceptance theme during which the students danced and chanted, “I believe that we will win.” During the piece, each student came forward, stated something positive about themselves and, later, declared, “What I believe, I can achieve.”
