Watch the excitement as students in Joy's middle school science class test their own Rube Goldberg machines. The students rise to the challenge of creating at least 6 different connected machines to complete a simple task. Congratulations to DVFS senior Imani Murray for winning a Silver Key award from the Philadelphia Writing Project Scholastic Art & Writing competition. Imani won for her short story, The Traveler's Love: a ten chapter short form novel about a girl named Lana.

DVFS Therapy Dog Lucy is almost 8 months old and settling into her role at DV. We are so happy to have this sweet soul as part of our DV Family!

DVFS welcomed the newest member of our faculty on December 5th. Lucy is a 6 month old labradoodle who has been trained as a therapy dog.

Being the Director of ABLE means it's important for Ken Sinapius to continually challenge himself the same way he asks ABLE students to challenge themselves on their adventures. Thanks to the generosity of the Benjamin J. Cohen Faculty Development Fund, Ken had the opportunity to push his personal limits this past summer on a 10-day trip to the North Cascades where he went on to climb Mount Adams and Mount Rainier!

DVFS is thrilled to share that former student Toby Tomlinson Baker has been selected as the CHADD 2018 Educator of the Year! She will receive the award in November, 2018 in Missouri at CHADD's annual conference.
