The Delaware Valley Friends Class of 2015 College Acceptances
Delaware Valley Friends School seniors responded to a questionnaire asking them about what college, university, art, or technical school they are planning to attend in the fall of 2015. All of our seniors responded to the 2015 Senior Survey, and many of them have given us permission to share their profiles here, including a reflection on some of the important things that they learned during their time at DVFS.
Learning to self-advocate is high on the list. From the day they arrive at Delaware Valley Friends, students investigate (in age-appropriate ways) their specific learning disability or difference to better understand how to succeed in the classroom. By the time students graduate they have developed a remarkable understanding about how they learn best and can clearly and confidently articulate their abilities and learning needs.
Of the total 34 graduates, 27 will be attending a 4-yr college; 3 will be attending a 2-yr college; 2 will enroll in vocational training programs; 2 will pursue career training through an apprenticeship program and/or military service. In all, the members of the class of 2015 were accepted to 81 different institutions of higher learning and were offered in total over $530,000 in 1st-year renewable merit scholarships.
