S.A.F.E. Query: How To Be A Better ALLY

Quakers use the term Query to refer to a question or series of questions used for reflection and in spiritual exercises. Friends have used Queries as tools for offering spiritual challenges to the community for much of their history, often taking the form of a collection of themed questions that are read at the beginning of a time of gathering. A Query is an opportunity for deep reflection and sharing, for learning, and for building community.

DV's Play and Community Space Gets a Slide

A new slide was installed this week in the Play and Community Space that is under construction near the east end of our lower field. What is special about the slide? It's a gift from the students and family members of the DVFS Class of 2017!

Past senior class gifts from a graduating class have included a Peace Pole (2014) and athletic supplies (2012).

DVFS Annual Holiday Toy Drive

For over 10 years the Delaware Valley Friends School community has participated in an Annual Holiday Toy Drive to benefit Early Head Start families. The Service Committee organizes the efforts, collecting and delivering the toys, and arranging them on-site for parents to choose an age-appropriate (0-3yrs) gift. We are delivering one of our largest ever collections of toys on Wednesday, December 16th!

Travel to India, 2016

In March 2016, a team of students and faculty from Delaware Valley Friends will be traveling to India for eight days. This service trip offers a unique international travel experience and the opportunity to work with Nobel Laureate, Kailash Satyarthi, and his organization BBA (Bachpan Bachpao Andolan - Save the Childhood Foundation) on the issues of poverty and child labor.

Toto Love Kenya Fundraiser Update

Last spring the Diversity Committee held their annual fundraising lunch to raise money for a charity that the students have researched and chosen. The lunch was a success, raising several hundreds of dollars to benefit the Toto Love Children's Home for HIV-AIDS Orphans in Kenya.
