For the second year, Carole Chilton's middle school advisory has embarked on a school-wide "Positivity Project." Here is how her advisory describes the initiative: "As an advisory, we have talked about how easy it is to brighten someone's day, how easy it is to let others know that someone cares, how easy it is to give someone a positive thought to hang onto- especially if they are going through a hard time. Our intent is to scatter seashells with positive messages on them throughout the school in plain sight. When one is found or noticed, it can be left where it is and enjoyed at the moment or taken as a reminder of all the positives in our lives, that there is someone who cares about us, and a reminder of how much we all have. The community member who finds and takes a shell is asked to keep the shell as long as they choose and then to put it in a different spot so someone else can find it, embrace the message and we can keep the positivity spreading. This is our second year doing this project and hoping it becomes a yearly tradition." Thank you Carole and your advisees for your thoughtful contribution to the DV community! Let the positivity flow!
