ABLE Ski Touring 2018

Day 2

Today, Friday 2/16, after an early breakfast the ABLE Ski Touring group headed to Tug Hill Ski Area.

Nikia F. shared this student update:

"Day two there was a full day of skiing and we got some fresh snow while skiing. Nobody fell as much today as on the first day and gained some new skills."

In the morning, Ski Lesson #2 included:

    • Trail Ethics
    • Kick & Glide Skills

And after that we practiced by having some kick & glide races.

After lunch, Lesson #3 was all about:

    • Turning Techniques
    • Snowplowing

ABLE Director Ken says that, "with their new skills, everyone skied well on the flat trails and small hills. As the hills got more challenging, everyone’s learning curve returned to the steepness of day one. We skied the nice easy trail to a creek and a group photo before returning to the lodge. After five plus hours out in the cold, everyone was ready to return to the lodge for some rest and hot showers."

The slideshow has been updated to include some photos from Day 2, so be sure to watch/scroll all the way through!
