Some Cool Things That Stand Out About a DVFS Educational Experience:
DVFS Boys Lacrosse won the TCISL league championships in the spring 2017 season. DVFS teams have received 11 sportsmanship awards, and have won 4 league championships in the school history. Our teams are known as the DV Dragons. (more)
DVFS team wins 2016 US Navy underwater engineering competition DVFS’s Dragon Dynamix out-performed 27 other regional high school teams in US Navy’s 2016 Sea Perch underwater robotics competition and earned an invitation to the national competition in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. (more)
DVFS student filmmakers win international film festival 2 years in a row “Grassroots Feminists” (2016) and “An LD Student’s Educational Journey" (2017) BOTH won the Judges Choice Award in the New Media category at the International Bridge Film Festival.

DVFS students write and produce an original musical production every spring Resonance, written by student Helena Nocentino ‘16 premiered on May, 2016 and Rough Sketch written by the DV Drama Club premiered March, 2017 - both directed by alum and award-winning actor Khalil Munir ‘01.

We know a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate In 2014 and 2016, DVFS students traveled to India and worked with Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) and its founder, 2014 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Kailash Satyarthi. (more)
Our middle school planned a Mission to Mars In a Middle School STEAM unit, students design and build rockets capable of reaching Mars, devise a system to protect their “eggstronauts” during landing, and create a solar-powered rover to help them explore the alien world. (more)
