Lower School Lead Teacher
Delaware Valley Friends School seeks outstanding candidates for the opening of a full time Lower School Teacher. Candidates should be qualified to teach in a lower school setting and be comfortable with teaching language arts, math, reading, science and social studies in a self-contained multigrade (grades 3-5) classroom. Candidates with a knowledge base about the instruction of students with learning differences are preferred, this includes training in the Orton-Gillingham approach to language instruction and a background in multisensory math instruction. The successful candidate will actively collaborate with another lower school teacher and assist in developing the curriculum in a growing lower school program. Ideal candidates will also have experience serving students from diverse backgrounds, with training in cultural awareness. Candidates with diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.

- Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years previous teaching students experience in grades 3-5 preferred
- Strong affinity for students who learn differently
- Passion for and strong knowledge of subject matter taught
- Ability to develop curriculum and approaches for diverse learners
- Familiarity with and appreciation for Quaker principles.
