Quaker Student Government
Based on the Quaker Meeting for Business model, students, faculty, and administration all come together in a Town Hall Meeting style gathering to share opinions about a variety of issues, provide input to student leaders, and make decisions about school policies and approaches.
All upper school students are encouraged to join one or more of the student government subcommittees. Committees meet during Community Time.
Made up of the student co-clerks of the upper school community government committees.
Explores issues such as peace, social justice, hunger, immigration, etc., within small groups as part of Quaker worship
Oversees all grade-wide and school-wide social activities.
Upper School Service
Committee Plans and organizes school-wide service projects.
The mission of the committee is to provide a framework upon which students and staff can build a community of inclusion without forfeiting one's identity. Open to all members of the DVFS community.
- BSU (Black Student Union) considers issues of racial equality within our community and the wider world. Open to all members of the DVFS community.
- Latin X provides unity and acceptance for all who identify as Latinx; provides education to combat stereotypes and fight ignorance; represents Latin culture at DV.
- Feminism Group seeks to educate themselves and the community about concerns that create an impediment to equality, such as wage inequality, educational inequality, and violence toward women.
- S.A.F.E. Committee (Students And Faculty for Equality) is dedicated to promoting an atmosphere at DVFS that is inclusive and accepting of all people regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation by increasing awareness and understanding.
