CORE Program for Character Development

An important part of educating the whole child is spending focused time on character development. In the DV lower school, we address this through the CORE program. CORE is crafted around exploring and strengthening our core community values through the Quaker SPICES of simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality, and stewardship. It uses programs such as Casel's Social/Emotional Learning and Franklin Covey's The Leader in Me to focus activities around growing self-awareness, self-management, good decision-making, and building on interpersonal skills and leadership potential.
