Volunteer

Delaware Valley Friends School welcomes the support of parents interested in helping with a variety of school activities and events throughout the year. Volunteering is a great way to connect with other DVFS parents and to become involved in the life of the school. We have several opportunities available. Please take a moment to complete this form and submit it. If you need more information on any activities, please feel free to email us in the DVFS Development Office. Thank you. Welcome Committee:
Help a new DVFS family by serving as their host for events and be a resource during the school year. (Year round, as needed)

DVFS Ambassador:
Assist with Open Houses, Talk & Tours, Lunch & Learns. (Year round, as needed)

Ice Cream Social:
Help set-up, greet and clean up this event for new students & families. (Late Aug.)

All School Picnic:
Help plan, set-up, and clean up this event for the entire DVFS community.(Late Aug.)

Community Dinners:
Host a pot-luck parent get together in your home for your child’s grade level (Sept-Oct).

Back to School Night:
Work registration table, help with refreshments. (Late Sept.)

Annual Fund Committee:
Help increase support for DVFS. Sign letters, make thank you calls. (Fall/Spring)

Spirit Week:
Help plan a variety of student events to build school spirit. (Mid Oct.)

Homecoming Weekend:
Help plan event, work on invitations, decorate room, etc. for this special event (Mid Oct.)

Grandparents Day:
Work registration table, direct guests, help with reception, aid and assist. (Nov.)

Speakers’ Series:
Work registration table, direct guests, aid and assist as necessary. (TBD-Fall, Winter, Spr.)

100 Days to Graduation:
Help plan activities and be available to help with event. (Late Feb.)

Alumni Events:
Spring break at most colleges, means our alumni come back to DVFS. (Mar.)

DVFS Gala & Auction:
DVFS Celebrates 25 Years! This will be our biggest fundraising event to date! Join one of our sub-committees: invitations, program book, sponsorships, auction, decorations, etc. (Mid-Late April)

Art Show:
Assist staff with setting up show, greeting guests, directing people. (Early May)

Sports Banquet:
Help with program book, decorations and registration at event. (Late May)

Book Fair:
Help staff with set-up inventory and help with check out. (Early June)

Faculty & Staff Appreciation Lunch:
Help plan & host a luncheon for faculty & staff at the end of the school year. (Mid June)

Host a “Friendraiser”:
Open your home & host a small coffee, lunch, dinner, or special event to help spread the word about DVFS (Year long, as needed)

General Volunteer:
Help on an “as needed” basis with any other volunteer opportunities that arise.
