This year's schedule of college rep visits is posted on the DV website. Students (and parents) can view the calendar feed HERE.

College Scholarships for LD

The Allegra Ford Thomas Scholarship and the Anne Ford Scholarship applications are now officially open! High school seniors who are part of the class of 2018 and have an identified learning disability and/or ADHD are welcome to apply.

The Allegra Ford Thomas Scholarship is a $2,500 one-time scholarship awarded to a graduating high school senior with a documented learning disability and/or ADHD who will be enrolled in a two-year community college, a vocational or technical training program, or a specialized program for students with learning and attention issues in the fall of 2018.

The Anne Ford Scholarship is a $10,000 scholarship ($2,500/year over four years) granted to a graduating high school senior with a documented learning disability and/or ADHD who will be enrolled in a full-time bachelor's degree program in the fall of 2018.

Students can submit applications beginning July 5th. All applications and supporting materials must be submitted by November 6th. Information about eligibility requirements and how to apply can be found at ncld.org/scholarships

Delaware Valley Friend School Head of School Kirk Smothers will be co-presenting "Teaching Students Who Learn Differently" at this event on Wednesday, April 5.

Get to know local independent schools and learn the inside scoop on How to Apply, Financial Aid, Teaching Students Who Learn Differently, and Why Independent School from local Admissions Directors. Please share with families you know who may be interested.

Presentations (delivered twice during the evening) will include:

McDaniel College Summer Science Academy

AlphaCard, has kicked off their third annual $1,000 scholarship program for 2016!

To apply, students must be current high school seniors, or currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students, who will attend college in the fall. Students must write a 350 – 400 word essay responding to a question about campus safety. The deadline for this scholarship is July 1st, 2016.

This year's conference theme is The Next Generation of Reading Science: Proven and Developing Trends in Literacy. Presenters include a wide range of professionals from across the country.
