Elaine Replansky

Elaine Replansky , Class of 1997

After graduating from DVFS in 1997, Elaine attended La Salle University as a dual major in Elementary and Special Education, with a minor in History. She graduated Cum Laude in 2001, and then taught in Bensalem High School, teaching Full-Time Learning Support.  After her first year of teaching, she decided to go back to school to pursue a Masters degree at the University of Pennsylvania in Reading, Writing, and Literacy. After two years at graduate school, she worked at Chichester School District teaching K-2 Full-Time Learning Support.

In 2005 Elaine had a daughter, Sophia, who is now in Kindergarten.  She moved to Florida in 2009, and returned to the Philadelphia area in the summer of 2010. She now teaches at Center School in Abington in a 4th/5th grade classroom. She is also training her dog to become a Literacy Therapy dog!

“While at DVFS, I was given a gift. It was the ability to understand how I learned, and how to utilize my natural strengths to overcome obstacles. In my senior year, I was able to assist in a Middle School classroom. It was there that I realized I could use both my passion for learning, and knowledge about learning styles together by teaching! I have reflected many times during my course work, and as I have become a more seasoned teacher, about all of my experiences at DVFS. I am sure I am where I am today because of the teachers I was fortunate enough to have. As well, I had the opportunity to grow at a school that believed in my success and taught me to appreciate my learning style.”
